⏱️ My Story in a Few Notes
I dreamed of being a concert pianist. I went to college ready to make it happen—until I realized I hadn’t been given the technique or training I needed. My dream collapsed. I walked away from the piano for eight years.
When I returned, it wasn’t as a performer—but as a teacher.
I promised myself no student of mine would ever feel that same heartbreak.
That promise became a mission.

🧡 Full Story: From Shattered Dreams to a Studio Built on Purpose
From as early as I can remember, I dreamed of becoming a concert pianist. I imagined the stage, the lights, the thunderous applause as I played Rachmaninoff with passion and precision. I entered college full of ambition, ready to take on the classical world.
Then came that day.
I stood outside a practice room, listening to another pianist—and in that moment, everything changed. I realized I hadn’t been given the tools, technique, or training I needed to reach the level I had imagined. My dream crumbled. I didn’t just walk away from the piano—I ran.
For eight years, I didn’t touch a key.
But music has a way of calling you back. When I returned, it was as a teacher.
I made a promise:
No student of mine would ever feel the way I had.
That promise became a mission.
I sought out master teachers, studied pedagogy, and rebuilt my understanding of technique and artistry. And just when I thought I had found my way—pain set in.
Back, neck, hands, wrists—years of old habits resurfaced in the form of physical pain. Again, I wondered if I would have to walk away.
Instead, I went deeper.
I found a brilliant coach and rebuilt my technique from the ground up. What I discovered transformed my teaching. I became known for helping students overcome physical limitations and technical struggles—because I had lived them myself.
But then, I hit another wall: time.
There was never enough of it in weekly lessons to cover all the things that mattered. That’s when the next idea was born:
What if students could...
• Practice with me every day, not just once a week?
• Review technical demonstrations as often as needed?
• Rewatch personalized feedback instead of trying to remember everything?
🎓 That’s how Pathway to Mastery began.
Whether you’re an adult pianist navigating pain and confusion, or a parent looking for structured support, this program exists because I lived the struggle—and found a better way.
It’s personal. And it works.
